Kimia is a student working on a project focused on the mitogenomic characterization of Nocaracris burri, a species from the Pamphagidae family (Caelifera, Orthoptera) found in dry and semi-arid habitats across Eurasia and Africa. Her project, supported by TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) in 2025, aims to obtain and characterize the complete mitogenome of N. burri using next-generation sequencing methods. Furthermore, Kimia seeks to determine the phylogenetic position of the Nocaracris genus within the Pamphagidae family, based on available data from existing databases.
